  19. Kermit 95's main functions are VT320/220/102/100/52 and ANSI (BBS)
  20. terminal emulation, Kermit and XYZMODEM file transfer, script programming,
  21. and international character-set translation.

  23. Version 1.1.3 incorporates the following new features:

  25.  + HOST MODE -- Like a Telnet server; works for dialins too.
  26.  + New version available for Windows NT PowerPC Edition.
  27.  + Search and bookmark capability added for scrollback buffer.

  40. This could be the Windows 95 Telnet server that you've been waiting for.

  42. The TCP/IP TUNING features should be of interest to anyone who has been
  43. experiencing sluggish Telnet, Rlogin, or file-transfer performance on SLIP
  44. or PPP connections.  Kermit 95 is the first 32-bit Winsock application (to
  45. our knowledge) that lets you fine-tune TCP buffer sizes, turn the "Nagle
  46. algorithm" on and off, and so on, to achieve peak performance, despite the
  47. underlying Winsock tunings.

  49. The new release can be ordered in shrink-wrapped or bulk- or site-licensed
  50. form from Columbia University.  All orders received starting today will be

  60. WHAT'S NEXT
  61.  
  62. Barring unforeseen circumstances, this will be the final console-mode-only
  63. release of Kermit 95, and also the final release that will work under
  64. Windows NT 3.xx.  Henceforth all efforts will be directed at producing a
  65. full Windows 95 graphical-user-interface (GUI) version, which will be
  66. provided to current registered users of Kermit 95 at no additional cost.

  68. Work on the GUI version is well underway.  In addition to the
  69. widely-desired change in the look and feel of the program, the conversion
  70. also frees us from a number of restrictions inherent in the use of Windows
  71. 95 console mode:

  75.  . The Caps Lock bug in Windows 95
